Mission Statement
SOLNAC exists to provide leadership in coordination of HIV/AIDS programs and activities of all stakeholders in Somaliland through advocacy, joint planning, monitoring and evaluation for the eventual prevention, control of the spread and elimination of the AIDS scourge in Somaliland.
This mission is translated into action through performance-oriented modalities for executing policy processes and strategies to fight HIV/AIDS by the following function areas:
v Guide policy formulation and establishment of programme priorities
v Take the lead in national planning and monitoring
v Spearhead advocacy for HIV/AIDS activities
v Identify obstacles to the national response
v Mobilize and monitor resource allocation and utilization
v Foster linkages among partners
v Gather and disseminate information;
v Promote HIV/AIDS related research
Vision
The vision of Somaliland National AIDS Commission is the eventual elimination of HIV/AIDS in Somaliland, by employing current successful interventions world-wide and developing new and more appropriate popular, practical strategies, effective implementation mechanisms and concrete monitoring approaches at national, regional and community levels.
